One of the downsides to working with children is that you pick up every disease going. Anything remotely contagious spreads like warm butter in an institution like the one we work at: colds, coughs, sneezes and, now, Pink Eye! Owwwwch!
It’s not a perk of the job, I can tell you, and now I’m confined to bed so as not to spread it back to the kids, trying hard not to think about the kinds of things that cause Pink Eye, like the herpes virus, or poo. Yuck!
